CAIRO - 15 March 2026: President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi emphasized that Arab unity is the "optimal way" to confront regional challenges during a Sunday phone call with King Abdullah II of Jordan.

Sisi condemned the Iranian attacks on Jordan and expressed Egypt's full solidarity with the kingdom’s leadership and people, according to Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed el-Shennawy in a Sunday statement.

The president stressed that Egypt rejects any attempts to undermine Jordan's security or stability, noting that Cairo views Amman’s security as an "integral part" of its own national security.

The two leaders discussed regional developments, including the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Sisi highlighted Egypt's intensified international and regional efforts to halt escalation and contain crises, while praising Jordan’s active role in regional stability.

King Abdullah II expressed appreciation for Egypt’s consistent support, affirming Jordan's commitment to close coordination with Cairo to prevent further tension in the region.

Sisi concluded by stressing the importance of a "collective Arab national security" concept to protect Arab states from external threats or aggression.
